A new epicenter for advanced hair training has emerged in New York City. L’Oréal Professional Products recently inaugurated the L’Oréal Academy, attracting top hairstylists, brand representatives, celebrities, and content creators nationwide for a grand celebration.
Following a noteworthy hair-cutting ceremony and social hour, guests reveled in a dynamic showcase featuring live hairstyling on models, poetic readings, and dance performances, merging the realms of hair artistry, dance, fashion, and music.
Similar to its counterpart academy in El Segundo, California, this East Coast extension functions as a hub for licensed hair professionals to learn about color techniques, business strategies, and more from L’Oréal Professional Products brands—Redken, Matrix, Mizani, Color Wow, Kérastase, Pureology, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, Biolage Professional Hair Spa, Shu Uemura art of hair, and Pulp Riot.
L’Oréal Professional Products is investing in the future of beauty by hiring over 700 hair professionals across the U.S. and equipping them with a comprehensive curriculum for comprehensive expertise. “It starts with the top educators,” says Leslie Marino, President of L’Oréal US Professional Products. “In school, the curriculum was important, but more crucial was the teacher. What sets us apart is the caliber and influence of our hairstylists across various disciplines: color, cut, styling, textured hair—name it. That’s our uniqueness and distinction.” Marino notes that educating pros to excel in textured hair and all curl patterns is a priority for L’Oréal. “It’s essential, not optional,” she asserts.
Trainees at the academy will have direct access to the latest product innovations from these brands, many of which are not yet available to the public. The Academy also houses an in-house testing facility, grounding professionals in every stage of new product development and enhancing their overall education. This new academy supports L’Oréal’s broader goal of uplifting the hair industry by extending salon pro beauty and services to everyone.
